BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

General Summary: The Advertising executive achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within market segment by effectively bringing in new advertisements and sponsorships for the journal & publication’s programs. The Advertising Executive tasked with helping bring Biomedz Global (BMG) Publishing’s expanding network of digital services and print publishing. This new position will play a critical role in driving business growth for the full portfolio of BMG’s publications including the established Kidney Cancer Journal (20 years in the industry) and also newly launched digital publication GUCancers.com focusing on genitourinary cancer subspecialties.  

Responsibilities:-

  • Direct, digital, B2B sales of advertising for digital, print, website and e-Marketing formats, and sponsorships for conference, webinar events, through a relationship-based approach.  
  • Refining and expanding our print and digital media and communications strategy in the US
  • Build client relationships and sell advertisements in magazines, on websites, in e-newsletters, webinars, digital campaigns etc.
  • Staying up-to-date on emerging marketing technologies, tools, and trends in order to advise clients on strategy.
  • Delivering customer service by acting as the liaison between advertisers and our production/graphic design team on matters such as ad design, ad updates, advertiser web banners and any new services which may be developed
  • Invoicing client projects in a timely and helpful manner, acting as an advocate for the client to be sure their needs are met
  • Building a personal book of business by attracting new advertisers through prospecting, appointment setting and face to face presentations
  • Contributing to the development of marketing tools, such as media kits
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience in journal marketing in healthcare/scientific publishing is highly preferred. Cancer industry experience is a plus.
  • A background in or comfort with science, medical/clinical or health communications. A healthcare degree or equivalent in experience, especially with pharmaceutical clients plus.
  • Experience in Direct, Digital, B2B sales, especially in the cancer/urology-oncology advertising field
  • An ability to build relationships remotely. Experience in managing client relationships, expectations.
  • Must stay up to date on latest technology and best practices.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to take on projects on their own. A strategic thinking and problem-solving mentality.
  • Proficient use of spreadsheets, word processing, presentation graphics, communications, e-mail, internet, and MS Office.
  • energetic and motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset. A strong sales stamina with a desire to make connections and enjoy building relationships with others.
  • excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as superior interpersonal and organizational skills.

Compensation is based on commission only. The income potential is unlimited.
